LLRA has received the following update regarding the Carholme Road Highway Improvements
As you are aware the Carholme Highway Improvements are set to commence at the end of June.
From the 30.06.25 to the 11.07.25 there will be a Northbound Lane closure from Harvey Street to Charlesworth Street for localised footway and drainage works. During the works two-way traffic flow with narrowed lanes will be in place, supplemented with temporary traffic lights as and when required. Local access to side roads will be managed by our Traffic management team.
Access to Staunton Street will be closed during the day to allow for resurfacing/civil works. Residents of Staunton Street will be notified when the closures take place.
Parking Bays on Foss Bank will be suspended during periods to allow access to vehicles, plant and equipment to access the works.
On the 14.07.25 the lane closure will change from a Northbound to a Southbound Lane closure. From the 14.07.25 to the 25.07.25 there will be a Southbound Lane Closure from Nelson Street to Gresham Street assisted with traffic management put in place similar to the above.
Two way moving traffic on Carholme Road shall remain unchanged but due to the lack of available road width parking will be suspended between Harvey Street and Charlesworth Street for the duration of both phases of works from 30th June till 25th July.
A letter will be distributed to resident parking permit holders with advisements to assist in finding alternative parking.
We apologise for any inconvenience you may experience during the works and would appreciate your patience while these essential highway works are taking place.
