Any Long Leys resident who wishes to make a positive contribution to the community is warmly encouraged to stand at an AGM for election to the LLRA Management Committee. Elections are, in normal circumstance, for a three-year term. The Committee meets around seven times per year and committee members also devote time to progressing specific initiatives on behalf of the community. It also represents Long Leys residents with a number of bodies including the city and county councils.
The Committee usually consists of between 5 and 9 committee depending on volunteer workload and current project activity.
The Committee also has the power to co-opt members of groups represented within the community on to the Committee and any working parties and other sub-committees, with the aim of making the group more representative and encouraging equal opportunities.
To stand, simply download a nomination form and complete and return to LLRA by email (LLRA@long-leys.org). Nomination forms can also be returned hardcopy to the LLRA Secretary, 44 Albion Close, LN1 1ED.
