LLRA’s 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Community Meeting will be held at Discovery Café, St George’s Hospital. All Long Leys residents and those who have an interest in the area are welcome to attend.
AGM topics include:
- 2025/26 Financial report.
- Resolution on updating the LLRA Constitution (see below).
- Management Committee elections (see below).
Community Meeting topics include:
- Long Leys Neighbourhood Plan progress.
- Inc Albion Works
- Feedback from Carholme City and County Councillors.
To enable all attendees to hear what is being said, microphones and a sound system will be used at the meeting. Attendees are respectfully reminded that they are expected to conduct themselves in a reasonable manner throughout the meeting and give others the opportunity to express their views.

Resolution on Updating the LLRA Constitution (2024)
Following a question at the last AGM, it is proposed that four new clauses are added to Section 9 (Finance), to clarify how the LLRA Management Committee operates.
e. Committee Powers: The LLRA Management Committee is empowered to manage and allocate all funds under its control to benefit the community. In accordance with LLRA decision-making procedures, any proposed action or expenditure may proceed after receiving approval from a simple majority of the Committee.
f. Community Consultation: Where an activity or expenditure is of significant scope or financial value, the Committee may, at its discretion and where practical, seek community approval via a majority vote (such as an AGM resolution). Where a community vote is held, the outcome will be determined by a simple majority of individual votes cast. No minimum voter turnout threshold shall apply.
g. Autonomy of the Committee: A community vote is not a mandatory prerequisite for expenditure. The Committee retains the authority to approve spending independently to protect the Association’s interests, including—but not limited to—maintaining commercial confidentiality during vendor negotiations.
h. Advisory Feedback and Consultations: The Committee may periodically seek ideas, guidance, or feedback from the community regarding specific issues or preferences. Any such exercise constitutes advisory feedback only and does not constitute a formal community vote. The Committee will utilize this information at its discretion to guide and define future proposals.

LLRA Management Committee Elections
Any Long Leys resident who wishes to make a positive contribution to the community is warmly encouraged to stand at the AGM for election to the Management Committee. Elections are, in normal circumstance, for a three-year term. The Committee meets around seven times per year and Committee Members also devote time to progressing specific initiatives on behalf of the community. It also represents Long Leys residents with several bodies including the City and County Councils.
The Committee typically consists of 7-9 elected Committee Members (currently 7), depending on volunteer workload and the number of projects being progressed.
The LLRA constitution requires approximately one third of Committee members to stand down at each AGM. This year two Committee Members stand down by rotation (Jackie Ward, Ben Hill) and can stand for re-election.

- Turn into Carram Way by Utopia Hair & Beauty
- In 150 metres turn right into Manrico Drive
- In 30 metres turn right into Benbow Way
- In 100 metres, at the junction, turn left, continuing along Benbow Way
- in 75 metres, you will be at Discovery House
Alternatively you can walk through the hospital grounds from the main Long Leys Road entrance.
There are some double doors just to the right of the main entrance doors of Discovery House. Please use these doors to get into the cafe, as the cafe access via the main entrance doors is locked in the evening.
