The following has been received by the LLRA from Ian Jerams at Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust
Please be aware that we will be making some improvements to the parking and traffic management on the St George’s hospital site in the New Year, with works commencing on 8 January 2018.
We have listened to resident’s concerns regarding traffic in the area and have had plans approved to expand and reconfigure traffic management on the site.
The plans which we previously shared through the residents association will see a further 29 parking spaces introduced to accommodate additional staff working in the area. The changes will also see the installation of bollards on Benbow Way, at one of the entrances to the hospital site which will prevent vehicle access via the residential roads and minimise disruption for our neighbours.
Our new entrance will be via the gate on Long Leys Road between Gervas House (three storey building) and the Gatehouse. The exit will remain in the same location at the start of Carram Way, opposite the hairdressers.
We hope that this expansion and changes on the site will reduce any impact from staff and visitors parking and driving on the estate.
We unfortunately do expect some short term disruption during the works which are expected to be completed in four weeks, however we will do all we can to minimise the impact.
There will be a period during the week commencing 29 January where our entrance on Long Leys Road will need to be closed to enable works to take place and during this time staff will need to access the site via Benbow Way. This will take no longer than five working days and we have reiterated to staff their responsibilities as considerate drivers during this week and throughout the improvement works.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
