Household Waste Recycling Centres to Accept More Types of Waste From 6 July

29th June 2020 by longleysra Leave a Comment

LLRA have had an update from the County Council on accepting more waste types at the county’s Recycling Centres. Note: A ‘click and tip’ booking system is operating. For more details or to book a slot, visit lincolnshire.gov.uk/clickandtip

County Council Statement on Further Waste Types:

We have discussed with our site contractors, and also with the onward processing chain, about how we can accept and dispose of all waste streams in a safe and secure manner and I am happy to say that we have arrived at a solution.

From Monday 6th July the HWRC’s will accept all the previously accepted waste streams but the two main streams, household non-recyclables and green waste, will be on different days. This allows the compactors to be separated and emptied whilst maintaining social distancing and safe movement around the sites.

The booking system is permanent, as is the height restriction at 1.8 metres. All sites are open 5 days a week.

Monday and Tuesday
Black-bagged household residual (non-recyclable) waste, plastics, mattresses, plasterboard, scrap metals, waste electrical equipment, batteries, household chemicals, mineral and cooking oils, gas cylinders and textiles.

Bulky items such as sofas will be accepted only on Tuesdays.

Small trailers (6ft x 4ft x 1.5ft deep) and without ‘greedy boards’, will be allowed on sites on Tuesdays and Fridays only. (Clarification: Temporary boards put on the sides of trailers to increase the height so you can get more in).

Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Garden (green) waste, wood, soil, hardcore, scrap metals, waste electrical equipment, batteries, household chemicals, mineral and cooking oils, gas cylinders and textiles.
