Statement from Lincolnshire Police: Sexual assault on the West Common, Lincoln

Please be aware of the following statement released by Lincolnshire Police:


We are investigating the sexual assault of a woman on the West Common in Lincoln at 10pm on Wednesday 19 February.  The victim, a woman in her 40’s, was assaulted near the entrance to the West Common from Long Leys Road. The woman was walking her dog along the pathway when she was approached by two men. One of the men is described as approximately 5ft 11 with scruffy facial hair and looking unkempt.  He was wearing a dark hoodie and trousers with white trainers.

We need to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or saw a man matching this description.  You can contact us in one of the following ways:

  • By calling 101 quoting the reference 436 of 19 February
  • By emailing force.control@lincs.pnn.police.uk – please remember to put the reference 436 of 19 February in the subject box
  • You can also contact us through the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org
