As a follow-up to LLRA’s Spring tidy-up, we plan a litter-pick session 10–11.15 am on Saturday 2 November. If you would like to join us and assist in making our community a litter-free and more wildlife-friendly place then please email jon.davies@long-leys.org with your contact details and numbers available. This session will focus on Long Leys Road, from the top by Yarborough Road down to the underpass and beyond, along with the Higson Steps.
Session details: Meet and return to the green area in front of 132 Long Leys Road (close to the Albion Crescent turn-off). LLRA can provide litter pickers, hi-vis vests, gloves and rubbish bags to those who want to help. We also have equipment for younger children. What we need is a small amount of your time and a huge amount of your enthusiasm (and for you to wear robust, non-open-toed footwear!)
LLRA would like to thank Travis Perkins on Long Leys Road for their support in allowing the use of their general waste bins to dispose of the collected rubbish and for assisting with the purchase of gloves, hi-vis jackets and rubbish bags.
Thank you to all those volunteers willing to “do their bit” for our community.
