Please could the residents committee oppose the planning application for industrial units on Mawers farm paddock and the addition traffic this will create.
The traffic in the mornings particularly is pretty bad and we can’t even pull out of Oakleigh Drive to join the morning queues so industrial traffic is likely to make it worse along with industrial vehicles being noisy and causing further air pollution.
Concerned about the amount of traffic coming in and out of the potential new road. Especially as it’s so close to other existing roads.
I am concerned about the increase in traffic as well as this allowing for more vehicles speeding along Long Leys Road. I see 35mph and over regularly on the speed displays on the road, especially at the school run time, which is always a concern. Traffic gets backed up from the traffic lights to Oakleigh Drive in the morning rush. How will improvements to traffic flow and speed reduction be tackled should this go ahead? Littering is already a problem all the way along Long Leys Road and I can only imagine that this would also increase?
